Emir of Kano, Sanusi meets Pope Francis

The Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi II, on Tuesday met with Pope Francis at the Saint Francis Basilica in Assisi, Italy for the annual World Day of Prayer.

The three-day event which was established by John Paul II, 30 years ago was held in Assisi, central Italy and had over 400 religious leaders in attendance.

The event was targeted at combating the persecution of people for their faiths and to pray for world peace.
